In the 16th edition of one of the most iconic World Downhill events, the Brazilian athlete showed an incredible performance when finishing the race in second place, with a 01:32:256 min. time.
“The Santos Urban Downhill Race is the most radical race that exists. The stairs of the Morro do Pacheco are really sloppy and narrow.
Very difficult to ride. Both technically and physically easy to miss. Saturday morning, during the training, I fell twice: one at the beginning of the track (I hit the handlebars on the wall and turnedfell on the stairs) and another in the end gap. Fortunately, I didn’t get hurt, but I was pretty scared.
I was very happy with the second place, because I’m away from the Downhill events for almost 2 years, competing only in the enduro genre. I thought a lot before accepting the invitation, because of the danger of falling and risking the 2018 season, but even though it is extremely dangerous, this event is awesome! It is certainly the best Bike event in Brazil, especially for all of Globo’s media.” said Patrícia.
The route of the Santos Urban Downhill Race is equivalent to a building of 45 floors, with 600 m of length, and was idealized by the Brazilian Mountain Bike Confederation (CBMTB), supported by the Santos City Hall.
